Noteworthy CRCT Achievement

Georgia is making significant progress in the area of student performance. Many middle schools across the state have successfully increased the number of students who meet or exceed CRCT standards in Reading, Science, English/ Language Arts, and Math. Glynn County is one example of a school system that has consistently improved its CRCT performance over the past three years.

Superintendent of Glynn County Schools, Michael Bull, attributes the success of students to the implementation of a four-step model for improving student achievement called Making Achievement Gains in the Classroom (MAGIC). The MAGIC program involves establishing standards and pacing guides for every grade, assessing students prior to instruction and analyzing pre-test results, basing instruction on demonstrated student need, and assessing learning through post-tests. Superintendent Bull endorses the program on the Glynn County website by stating, “MAGIC has proven to be a useful tool as our schools have made adequate yearly progress based on the criteria established in No Child Left Behind (NCLB).”

The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement commends Glynn County Schools for these impressive accomplishments. For more information on Glynn County School System, please visit http://glynn.schooldesk.net.
